How to Get Started:

Any adult who is physically and medically able can ‘drop in’ to try dragon boating at a regular scheduled practice (except for Steersperson Training). Our teams currently practice at Sub Sea Tours in Morro Bay, on the Embarcadero at Pacific Street. Practice times are posted on our website: ccdba/schedule.org. Each paddler must also sign a liability waiver on the dock.

After the first free practice, ‘drop in’ paddlers are asked to donate $10 per practice to CCDBA.  These donations are essential to cover the basic operating expenses of CCDBA, including boat storage and insurance.

After trying out the sport, the paddler is encouraged to join CCDBA. To join, the paddler must sign a Liability Waiver, Release of Medical Liability and other required forms, and make an annual donation to CCDBA.  CCDBA’s Paddlers are then welcome to participate in any scheduled practice, clinics, festivals, social paddles and other programs or activities offered by CCDBA.

Note: CCDBA is governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Directors. There are no voting members. There are many opportunities for involvement at the team level.
